Description 1910 (Circa). De EERSTE VUURTOREN. De eerste vuurtoren werd gebouwd in 1771. Ze werd als lichtbaken gebruikt tot einde 1859. Ze stond op de plaats waar thans het Monument der Zeelieden staat. In de volksmond werd deze vuurtoren de VLAGGESTOK genoemd. Op de achtergrond, huizen van de oude Vuurtorenwijk aan de andere kant van de haven.
