Masset, Jean-François

Expertise
Jean-François Masset is deputy director for the EU & International Affairs at Ifremer, in charge of marine research infrastructures, in situ marine applications of the GMES program and marine data management. He was previously, as mechanical and hydrodynamic engineer, head of the mechanical developments department for in situ submarine instrumentation, and deeply involved in sea-floor observatories projects (FP5 ASSEM, FP6 NoE ESONET, FP7 EMSO) and ocean profiler floats (ARGO Program, FP7 EURO ARGO). He is in charge of the SEAS-ERA work on marine research infrastructures. He is a member of the science advisory board of MERIL (Mapping European Research Infrastructures Landscape) and the working group on “Access and standards” of ESF Forum on Research Infrastructures.
