Abstract
De Arabische Zee bevat een diverse wierflora. De oceanografische omstandigheden in de Arabische Zee kennen een grote spatiotemporele variatie, resulterend in zowel scherpe als graduele biogeografische transitiezones. Op een grotere schaal zullen speciatie- en verspreidingspatronen onderzocht worden op basis van de moleculaire divergentie tussen disjunct verspreide taxa en endemen van de Arabische Zee en verwante taxa van het Indo-Pacifisch gebied.
