This platform provides information and knowledge about the Flanders Hydraulics' areas of expertise in 'hydraulics and sediment', 'harbours and waterways', 'hydraulic structures', 'water management' and 'coastal protection' - ranging from Flanders Hydraulics' employees with their expertise, the curriculum of this institution, to publications, projects, data (in the long term) and events in which Flanders Hydraulics is involved.
Verhandeling over het stroomgebied van de Schelde als een collectieve voorziening waarmee zorgvuldig moet worden omgegaan. De Schelde heeft een belangrijke functie binnen de economische produktie, maar ook als intergetijdegebied is de rivier van grote (natuur) waarde. Economie en ecologie moeten hier tot een synthese worden gebracht om een perspectief te bieden voor duurzame ontwikkeling. Samenwerking tussen de oeverstaten op het gebied van bescherming van de kwaliteit van de rivier moet de Schelde tot wereldvoorbeeld maken.
