Abstract:
The Centre for Limnology (CL) studies ecological communities in the shallow freshwater areas so characteristic of the Netherlands. It was originally called the Hydrobiological Institute and was founded in 1957. The centre’s three departments concentrate on the interaction between populations of various species, and also on the influence of those populations on nutrient cycles.
