Abstract: |
The ENVIROMICS consortium, embedded in the Industrial Research Fund (IOF) of the University of Antwerp Association (Antwerp, Belgium), combines the unique knowhow and expertise of two complementary research groups. The Ecophysiology, Biochemistry and Toxicology Group (EB&T, www.ecotox.be) provides a thorough insight into environmental impact and (eco)toxicological mode of action at different levels of biological organization and complexity, using a broad range of testing methodologies. Our expertise and technologies reach from the molecular up to the ecosystem level. The group is part of the Eco - Centre On Environmental Studies, a recognized Centre of Excellence at the University of Antwerp.
The Biochemical Engineering Technologies group (BIT) within the department of Industrial Sciences and Technology, at the Karel De Grote University College is also part of the University of Antwerp Association. The group complements the ecotoxicological know-how of EB&T with broad expertise in design and optimization of industrial and municipal water treatment systems. |
