Abstract: |
The Department of Culture and Global Studies is a cross-faculty department linking together The Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Social Sciences. Department researchers draw on theories and methods from both the social sciences and the humanities in their studies of culture and society: inter-human relations, relations between cultures, local and global relations, relations between the past and the future. We focus in particular on the interplay between cultural, social and political processes within intercultural communication, transnational relations, the creation of identity and the production of culture. And on interactive communication of our knowledge to the surrounding society.
The department employs around 120 staff, some of which are attached to activities conducted by the department at Campus Ballerup, some to Campus Aalborg. The Department offers a large number of programmes within the humanities and the social sciences, from bachelor to master’s level, as well as further studies in doctoral programmes. The Department of Culture and Global Studies was formed 1 August 2010, through a merger of the Department of Language and Culture and the Department of History, International and Social Studies. |
