Werbrouck, Eva

Expertise
During her master, Eva sampled several tropical seagrass meadows (Kenya) and got acquainted with the identification of their leaf-associated meiofauna and in particular, of their copepod species (order Harpacticoida) . In her current PhD research, the focus lies on the biochemical ecology of copepods, and in particular, on their lipid and associated fatty acid response to fluctuating temperature and food regimes. This gave her the opportunity to participate in Antarctic field work, to gain experience in the conductance of laboratory experiments, to get trained in several lipid and fatty acid extraction techniques and to get familiar with FAME identification (GC-MS) .
