Abstract
Sinds kort wordt weer vis waargenomen in de rivier. Nabij de Belgisch-Nederlandse grens komen nagenooeg alle soorten vis die vroeger aanwezig waren terug voor, een aantal soorten in grote aantallen. Meer stroomopwaarts blijft soortenaantal en dichtheid nog beperkt (Maes et al., 1996). Door een combinatie van verschillende vangstmethoden wordt de dichtheid en soortensamenstelling van de visfauna langsheen de Zeeschelde gevolgd. Speciale aandacht wordt daarbij ook gegeven aan de visfauna in de gecontroleerde overstromingsgebieden.
