Abstract
The Integrated Coastal Saftey Plan (GKVP, 2011) outlines the need for improved coastal defenses at Wenduine to provide protection against extreme storm events. The GKVP recommends a combination of beach replenishment and construction of a new wave return wall to provide defense against overtopping of the sea dike by storm waves (GKVP, 2011). To verify and optimize the proposed wave return wall designs at Wenduine, physical hydraulic model tests will be carried out in the large wave flume at Flanders Hydraulics Research laboratory. This report describes the experimental setup for wave overtopping tests to be performed in the large wave flume.
