Abstract |
The annotated list of Rhodophyta (excl. order Ceramiales), subjected to recent taxonomic revisions and nomenclature changes, is presented. It includes 102 species with 125 infraspecies taxa, related to 49 genera, 24 families, and 16 orders. The new combination, Coccotylus truncatus f. ligulatus (C. Agardh) V. Aysel, H. Erdugan, N. Milchakova comb. nov. is proposed. In comparison to monographic reports published from 1975 to 2000, 32 species are new for the Black Sea flora. The richest species diversity of Rhodophyta is recorded along the coast of Turkey (76 species and 98 infraspecies taxa) and the Ukraine (67 species and 81 infraspecies taxa). Factors affecting the distribution of new, mainly warm-water species in the Black Sea basin are discussed |
