After it has been recorded for the first time from Europe in Belgium, the nonnative barnacle Balanus glandula is recorded from the SW of the Netherlands as well, from the mouth of the Westerschelde estuary, on 18 April 2018. Until June 2018 it has not been recorded in Europe north of the Westerschelde.
