The Flanders Marine Institute accommodates the biggest collectionof literature on marine sciences in Belgium. The Institute has takenthe initiative to develop a fully integrated marine information databasefor - among other things - indexing this collection. The globalaim of IMIS (Integrated Marine Information System) is to provideinformation on all topics relevant to marine sciences: people withtheir expertise, institutions and their mandate, publications, projects,datasets or marine events. By way of one central interface, theuser can search, find and retrieve all possible data on the marineenvironment.
