Abstract
    The assignment ‘1D-2D modelling of the IJzer’ is a pilot project for the use of dynamically coupled 1D and 2D models and aims to:
    1 investigate whether the frequent use of coupled 1D-2D models is feasible;
    2 determine what hardware is needed to achieve an acceptable computation time;
    3 find out what the differences are between the results of different model types;
    4 to draw up guidelines for the layout of 1D-2D models and the choice of hardware (described in a separate note).
