Field study of levee overflow and overtopping hydrodynamics
Desimpel, A. (2022). Field study of levee overflow and overtopping hydrodynamics. MSc Thesis. Ghent University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture: Ghent. 109 pp.
This thesis evaluates the reliability and validity of different water height and flow velocity measurements from experiments which simulate wave overflow and overtopping of the levees in the Hedwige- and Prosperpolder. The measurement techniques which are evaluated are based on electromagnetic flow velocimetry, particle image velocimetry, ultrasonic water height measurement and infrared water height measurement.
