Beschrijving Jan Seys, head of the communication department of the Flanders Marine Institute VLIZ, explains how the outcome of a Marine Board position paper can be distributed to a broader public on the VLIZ Young Marine Scientists Day 2012.
Today we invited prof. Michael Moore from Plymouth Marine Laboratory on the VLIZ Young Marine Scientists Day 2012. First of all because he is a world expert in “oceans and human health”, but also as lead author of a position paper and a working group on this topic within the Marine Board.
He has a role to play and he can show how the Marine Board is working in Europe to the research agenda on marine matters in the future. Giving him the opportunity to translate his message on the national level during a twinning activity here in Flanders is a very nice opportunity for us, for himself, for the Marine Board and for the audience present today.
