| Abstract |
The paleontology and sedimentology of 165 meters of Tournaisian and 133 meters of Barly Visean sediments are described at Landelies (Hainaut, Belgique). Facies and isopachs are compared to those of the Tournai type-region and of the northern part of the Namur Syncline. The problem of the Tournaisian-Viséan limit is emphasized in the Dinant region. The recently proposed Gnathodus antetexanus conodont boundary falls within the Calcaire de Leffe and is located well below the first appearance of the Dinant Black Marbles; therefore it does not comply with the resolution of the 6th International Congress of Carboniferous Stratigraphy. |
