Abstract |
The paper reports on a study to assess qualitative and quantitative species composition of epifauna of shipwrecks, offshore platforms, etc., in the North Sea, and to identify possible biological indicators of water quality. Methods employed include diver estimates of cover for each species; phototransects, analyzed in the laboratory; and samples, analyzed in the laboratory. It was found that shipwrecks and other artificial hard substrates on thesea bottom consitutue an enrichment of diversity and natural recourses of that sea. |
