Abstract
Billions of years of evolutionary pressure have forced organisms to develop efficient solutions to real-world problems. More and more engineers realize that they are faced with similar problems on a daily basis. Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, one should first take a look at existing solutions, e.g. in nature. This nature inspired approach can be interesting for a multitude of engineering domains, including bioengineering.
