Within an article-wise commentary of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (1982 Convention), the present contribution has a closer look at Article 305, entitled “Signature”. After having analyzed the general purpose and function of this article in the broader framework of the 1982 Convention, its history is briefly explained. The content of this article is subsequently analyzed with special emphasis on how this article has been implemented in practice so far. |
