Abstract |
The Soviet Union, sole Baltic state claiming a 200 mile economic zone, has recently concluded new delimitation agreements with Finland and Poland. In so doing a single maritime boundary is established to delimit territorial waters, exclusive economic zones, fishery zones and continental shelves in the area, which in both cases corresponds with previous agreements on these boundaries. To illustrate the point attention is paid also to the evolution of the different claims made by these Baltic states in recent decades. |
