Marine Science and Technology Centre (MARSTEC) is an interdisciplinary centre of Klaipėda University that offers open access research facilities, resources and services for maritime research and technological development.
Marine Science and Technology Centre as a knowledge core of the Marine Valley unites researchers and resources of Klaipėda University, Nature Research Centre, Lithuanian Energy Institute, Fishery Service under the Ministry of Agriculture and other institutions or subdivisions, working in the sphere of marine environment and marine technologies in the scope of the Marine Valley.
Open access research facilities of the Marine Science and Technology Centre of Klaipėda University are open to all interested local, regional, national and international researchers and businesses.
Marine Science and Technology Centre is a scientific subdivision of Klaipėda University, established on the basis of two research institutes – Coastal Research and Planning Institute and Institute of Mechatronics. Above Institutes function as autonomous subdivisions, their topics and activities are gradually centralized, including other related academic research subdivisions – Air Pollution from Ships Research Laboratory, Testing laboratory „Material and construction research centre“ and others. |
