Abstract: |
The group combines process-geomorphological, geographical and Quaternary geological approaches, bridging between measurement timescales of seconds to days and depositional record timescales of years to millennia, up to glacial cycles. Through measurements, modelling and geological and historic reconstructions, we study: (1) River valleys and river mouths: deltas, lagoons and estuaries, fluvial processes and sedimentology, morphological and depositional evolution of fluvial landscapes, under natural and human managed conditions. (2) Coastal zones: Coasts and the continental shelf bed at the interface of land and ocean, shallow marine sediment transport and coastal geomorphology. (3) Recent and Past Climate Change from field measurements and sedimentary records in active depositional landscapes. |
