Bachelor of Arts and Philosophy Doctor in Economics and Business Studies, Complutense University of Madrid (1980 & 1986), Master of Arts in Economics, University of Essex, UK (1982), Philosophy Doctor in Economics, University of Essex, UK (1985).
Currently he is Professor in Economics at the UNED, Director-General at Fundación INNOVAMAR (2005 onwards) and Secretary of the Spanish Maritime Cluster.
Past responsibilities at the Spanish National Administration include:
Director-General of Technological Policy (2000/2004), Ministry of Science and Technology; Director-General of Industry and Technology Ministry of Industry and Energy (1998-2000), and Deputy Director-General of Studies, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism (1992-1998).
He has been a Board member at various companies: SEPI, IZAR, REPSOL Química, ENAGAS, Electra de Viesgo, Transaval, etc. and he has broad analytical experience in the field of economic analysis and industrial organization.
President of the OECD Industry Committee (1998–-2000) and the OECD SME Working Group (1996-1998) (2011). | |
