Abstract |
Three new amphipods of the genus Bathyporeia are described from the Atlantic coasts of North Africa: B. elkaimi sp. nov., B.ledoyeri sp. nov., and B. microceras sp. nov. Both B. elkaimi sp. nov. and B. ledoyeri sp. nov. belong to the pilosa group: the carpal fang of their third and fourth pereiopods are blunt-tipped with a subapical setule, and they have no tooth on their coxae 1-3 and on their third epimeral plate. B. microceras sp. nov. is unrelated to any previously described species and adult males have very short second antennae. |
