| Abstract |
The genus Campylomormyrus, systematic survey and description of a new species. The authors base their study on the examination and the comparison of the types and series of specimens from the collections of the Musée royal de l'Afrique Centrale (Tervuren), of the Institut royal des sciences naturelles de Belgique (Brussels) and on specimens collected at Kisangani (Zaire, Stanleyville).With C. orycteropus, a new species described from Lake Moero, the genus Campylomormyrus now comprises 14 species: C. tamandua (Gunther)C. mirus (Boulenger)C. elephas (Boulenger)C. alces (Boulenger)C. christyi (Boulenger)C. phantasticus (Pellegrin)C. rhynchophorus (Boulenger) (C. compressirostris (Pellegrin), synonyme) (C. lualabaensis (David et Poll), synonyme)C. curvirostris (Boulenger)C. tshokwe (Poll)C. numenius (Boulenger) (C. ibis, synonyme)C. luapulaensis (David & Poll)C. cassaicus (Poll)C. bredoi (Poll)C. orycteropus sp.nov. |
