| Abstract |
36 species of irregular echinoids were collected during the MUSORSTOM 1 and 2 cruises off the Philippines islands in 1976 and 1980, during CORINDON cruise in the Straits of Makassar in 1980 and during the ESTASE cruise between Manilla and Surabaya in 1984. One species (Plesiozonus tenuis) is described as new. Several other species are little known, among which six are recorded here for the second time, and three (Conolampas diomedeae, Laganum versatile and Plesiozonus diomedeae) have been collected for the first time in the Indonesia-Philippine area. The hypothesis that Linopneustes excentricus might be a juvenile form of L. spectabilis is suggested. |
