Abstract
Coastal communities need protection systems that remain reliable under extreme storms while retaining the capacity of sandy coasts to adapt. Dune-dike hybrid Nature-based Solutions (DD-Hybrid NbS) combine a hard dike with a dynamic dune. These can therefore contribute to both flood safety and nature-inclusive coastal management. Their design requires a quantitative understanding of how storm waves erode the dune, expose and load the dike, generate overwash and overtopping, and transport sediment. This report is DuneFront Deliverable D12.3 and presents the wave flume scale modelling experiments done in the DuneFront project to increase this understanding. The report includes: the experimental modelling setup, the test program and the experimental DUKEx-dataset (DUne diKE Experiments). The test program includes the
