Loïc Blanchard, MBA and MSc in natural resources management, is special adviser in RCN and Project Manager of the CSA Oceans project. His previous experience includes project management and policy development/coordination in the European Institutions and in the private sector. In the European Commission, he contributed in particular to DG research in the development of the Horizon 2020 societal Challenge 2 and the Focus Area "Blue growth" work programmes. Previously, he was responsible for DG Maritime Affairs (DG MARE) of energy related issues (e.g. infrastructures, marine renewables, new technologies). In the private sector, he worked for more than 10 years on renewable energy and resources efficiency issues in different positions (project manager, public affairs advisor and team leader). He speaks English, French, Spanish and learns Polish.
