Abstract
This study aims at an interdiciplinary analysis of the evolution of anti-predator traits in damselfly larvae and waterfleas. The study involves a comparative analysis of peptide and protein profiles in an effort to elucidate the molecular-physiological intermediates of anti-predator traits. In addition, we will try to quantify selection pressures in cattle tank experiments, and to quantify evolutionary potential in a multi-trait context. This involves the reconstruction of genetic variance-covariance matrices, QTL analysis and an analysis of phylogenetic constraints.
