| Abstract |
Ergalatax junionae nomen novum is proposed as replacement name for Morula martensi Dall, 1923, from the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf. The latter name is a junior secondary homonym of Pentadactylus martensi Schepman,1892, from the Red Sea, of which E. obscura Houart, 1996, is here considered as junior synonym. Ergalatax,junionae nomen novum is compared with Ergalatax martensi (Schepman) and E. margariticola (Broderip, 1833). The geographical distribution of E. junionae and E. martensi is updated and the introduced Mediterranean species is identified as E. junionae. |
