Abstract |
The Berkheide Deep Well recharge Project is the second deep well recharge project made by the Dune Water Works of South Holland. The recharge and recovery take place in a fresh-water aquifer between two clay layers. While drilling the recovery wells it transpired that the clay layer on the lower side of the aquifer, which is near the fresh/saline interface, was not continuous and even absent in one part of the area. Because of the risk of drawing up brackish, salt groundwater, a study was made to determine the best way of operating the system. |
