Abstract |
This study aims to compare the results from the experimental tests with formulas from literature (when available). Although the experimental setup is not representative for a specific prototype layout, it was defined in such a way that it covers possible geometrical and hydraulic conditions typical for the Flemish harbors. The present report represents the second part of the whole study conducted on very oblique wave attack on quay walls and sea dykes, for which a report on wave overtopping results has been published before. The results indicate that for large wave obliqueness, the reduction on the wave forces is approximately 50% with respect to perpendicular wave attack. |
